Today, Japanese agricultural, forestry and fishery products are attracting attention both in Japan and overseas. Washoku, traditional dietary cultures of the Japanese, is declared a World Heritage. Also food and wooden architecture of Japan were highly evaluated in Expo Milano 2015. In addition, many foreign tourists visiting Japan taste the agricultural, forestry, fishery and livestock products and food culture of Japan. And they enjoy streetscapes which consist of beautiful wooden architectures, including the historic buildings.
It is expected that the agricultural, forestry and fishery and livestock products of Japan will increasingly attract great deal of attention, especially for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. For this reason, “Council for the Promotion of Sustainable Japanese Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products” has been organized by all stakeholders in an effort to have the consumers lastingly enjoy Japanese culture and the agricultural, forestry, fishery and livestock products which have rich taste.
